WEARE, N.H., June 18, 2009 – Danconia Media today launched a completely redesigned Web site for the Community Services Council of New Hampshire, which received the services for free as part of the design and marketing firm’s grant program for nonprofits and charities.
The site – located at www.cscnh.org – was built using a content management system that makes it easy for the Pembroke-based nonprofit to maintain in-house. It features about 15 pages spotlighting CSCNH’s many services geared toward needy homeless, developmentally disabled and elderly people throughout the Granite State.
Danconia took on the project when Mara Olisky of CSCNH contacted the firm after learning about the grant program from the Greater Concord Chamber of Commerce monthly newsletter. The organization had a Web site, but it was severely outdated, difficult to update and did not accurately represent CSCNH. It took less than a month for the new site, which would normally cost thousands of dollars, to be launched.
The Web design grant program was launched after Danconia employees noticed that many New Hampshire nonprofits and charities had inadequate sites and, in many cases, lacked Internet presences altogether. Because of the economy, many nonprofits have much less funding than years past and lack the resources to market themselves online.
“There are a lot of great New Hampshire nonprofits that are behind the times when it comes to promoting their causes, recruiting volunteers and soliciting donations online,” said William Sweeney, Danconia’s vice president. “We launched the grant program so they can stay current online and continue to serve our communities as well as they have for years.”
The Web design grant program is now open for other applicants; the deadline is rolling. The program is intended for in-state organizations, but out-of-state nonprofits and charities will be considered if they provide services for New Hampshire residents.
