CONCORD, N.H., June 13, 2011 – An online auction that Danconia Media helped engineer raised more than $10,000 last week for the Friends of Forgotten Children.
The benefit auction, launched with the help of 105.5 JYY FM, raised $10,095, the radio station announced this morning. One hundred percent of the auction’s proceeds go toward the Concord-based charity, which operates the area’s largest food pantry. Though the auction is closed, supporters can still make cash donations by visiting http://www.fofcnh.org/auction.
Danconia Media, a leading New Hampshire web design and marketing firm, assisted by integrating the auction functionality on the organization’s website. JYY, a Top 40-format station owned by Nassau Broadcasting, promoted the auction heavily throughout its duration, driving listeners to the site in between songs and interviewing members of the organization.
“The willingness of Danconia Media to help Friends of Forgotten Children speaks volumes for the company’s owners and leadership,” Andrew Barnes, FOFC’s executive director, said. “The fundraiser can bring us out of one of our group’s lowest fundraising periods.”
For almost 40 years, Friends of Forgotten Children has been helping New Hampshire children and families. The volunteer-driven organization provides nourishment, clothing, holiday gifts and school supplies for children. Last year, the network delivered more than 120,000 meals, 250,000 pounds of clothing and gifts for 1,100 children during the holiday season.
Danconia Media has a history of helping area nonprofits. The firm has a grant program for New Hampshire organizations in need of donated websites; recipients include the State of New Hampshire American Legion Riders, the Salem Animal Rescue League, Strafford Nutrition Meals on Wheels and the Community Services Council of New Hampshire.
