COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo., Jan. 30, 2012 – Warrior Ranch, a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping active duty veterans transition to civilian life, this week launched a new website engineered by design and marketing firm Danconia Media.
Using the site, visitors can donate to the organization securely via PayPal. The site features content about Warrior Ranch’s programs, locations, mission, leadership, history and latest news, among other things. Danconia Media’s web team gave the site a clean, aesthetically pleasing look to appeal to the wide range of people the organization serves.
“We are grateful for our sponsors, like Danconia Media, which developed the new Warrior Ranch website and promotional marketing tools,” said Shawn Black, Warrior Ranch founder.
The site – located at www.warriorranch.org – was developed using a remarkably robust and user-friendly content management system (CMS) that Warrior Ranch can harness to maintain its web presence in-house. Since the platform is open-source, it has zero licensing fees. However, the CMS features the same functionality, scalability, reliability and search engine-friendly capabilities as platforms that cost tens of thousands of dollars per year in licensing alone.
Warrior Ranch’s volunteers span the United States and the world. Together, they have supported more more than 800,000 U.S. service members and have been commended by the White House, Department of Defense and Congress. Warrior Ranch is headquartered in Colorado Springs and also has a planned training center in Orange County, Calif.
The organization began taking shape after the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. Shawn and Angelica Black, husband and wife, worked from their living room sending American pocket flags, phone cards and thank you notes to service members serving in Iraq and Afghanistan.
The Warrior Ranch’s mission has become even more important because of pending force reductions in Iraq and Afghanistan. About 72,000 troops are expected to return home by summer’s end, and another 68,000 by 2014. Nearly half of the transitioning service people are expected to return to southern California.
This is one of several websites Danconia Media has launched in January 2012. Other recent sites include the New Hampshire Public Health Association (NHPHA), Residential Resources, Inc. (RRI), Methuen Construction and Patriot Foundry & Castings.
