Since launching just over two weeks ago, Google+ has seen remarkable momentum. Official numbers haven’t been released, but all accounts indicate that it’s growing at an impressive rate. There are already millions of members using the service and its Android app. Early reviews of Google’s latest stab at social networking have been favorable.
Given its popularity, businesses have been anxious to figure out how to use Google+ as a marketing tool. After initially telling brands to hold off on creating accounts, Google has fast-tracked plans to launch business pages because of the enormous interest in the platform. Many businesses that have created profiles have had their accounts purged; Ford Motor Co. is an apparent exception.
Google plans to award businesses with test accounts starting next week. Anyone interested has until Friday (July 15) to apply. To be considered, fill out this brief form.
