BOSTON, Nov. 10, 2011 – Danconia Media today launched a website for SnowXu Collapsible Snowshoes, an innovative winter recreation product that will begin shipping early next year.
Compact and lightweight, SnowXu Collapsible Snowshoes feature a remarkably sturdy frame, great traction and are simple for anyone to use. DebK, LLC engineered the snowshoes for use by snowshoers, rescue workers, snowboarders, skiers, snowmobilers and more. The snowshoes’ innovative, patented design allows for easy storage and transportation.
Danconia Media built the site using a highly robust, yet user-friendly, content management system (CMS) that SnowXu’s staffers can leverage to maintain the website in-house rather than relying on a third-party agency for updates. Since the CMS is open-source, it lacks the costly licensing and maintenance fees that proprietary web publishing solutions carry. The CMS can be leveraged by virtually anyone with minimal training.
The website design project was headed by Danconia’s Max Bittle, who also provided professional product photography. Account Executive Peter Lawley acted as project manager. The project was completed in time for the Boston Globe Ski and Snowboard Expo, which will be held from today to Sunday, Nov. 13 at the Seaport World Trade Center in Boston.
Recommended for snowshoers below 250 lbs, SnowXu Collapsible Snowshoes features a unique one-buckle binding that can quickly be adjusted. The unisex snowshoes are crafted with sturdy aircraft aluminum.
SnowXu is the brainchild of Deb Kreutzer, who sought to develop an simpler and more convenient way to explore New Hampshire’s mountains, fields and woodlands. James Page – a technologist, product designer and startup veteran – acted as lead engineer on the project. Earlier this year, DebK, LLC was established after five years of development, testing and fine-tuning of the product.
The snowshoes have been tested in rugged terrains, including the Rocky Mountains and Swiss Alps, by recreational snowshoers and emergency responders. The product has already received accolades from snowshoeing enthusiasts.
“No matter how Deb described them, nothing prepared for me the ingenuity and creativity these snowshoes represent,” Phillip Gary Smith wrote in Snowshoe Magazine.
SnowXu Collapsible Snowshoes are available for pre-order at Amazon.com. The products are expected to start shipping Jan. 20, 2012.
