LACONIA, N.H., Feb. 1, 2010 In preparation for this year's Laconia Motorcycle Week, the rally's organizers have called on Danconia Media to design a Web site that will act as a promotional and informational hub.

The overhauling of the Web site located at www.laconiamcweek.com has already begun, and the new site is expected to be launched in the coming weeks. The site will be equipped with a highly user-friendly content management system (CMS) that will make it easy for the organization to maintain it in-house.

Saloom Furniture Company Launches Redesigned Web Site, Revamped Branding

Monday, 01 February 2010 by admin

WINCHENDON, Mass., Feb. 1, 2009 Saloom Furniture Company, a manufacturer of premium contemporary, country and transitional dining furniture, has launched a completely overhauled Web site and rebranding to match the quality and style of its products.

The site located at www.saloom.com was designed by New Hampshire-based Danconia Media using a highly user-friendly content management system (CMS) that Saloom plans to use to maintain it in-house. It features a robust cataloging system that allows staffers to add, remove and modify products and categories with minimal training.

The enhanced Internet presence allows Saloom to more effectively market its dining tables, chairs, bar tables, counter tables and case pieces to potential customers and vendors online. Using the site, visitors can easily find samples of Saloom's wide variety of furniture styles and find an authorized dealer in their areas. Danconia also produced hundreds of pages of content crafted to rank highly on major search engines like Google, Yahoo! and Bing.

We've always felt that we had a powerful story to tell of high quality, American-made, custom-order dining furniture but our Web site was 10 years old, built in-house, and didn't give us the visibility on the Internet that we needed, Becki Gould, Saloom's marketing director, said. We felt that, if consumers discovered our products, we could sell them on the quality craftsmanship and design, and direct them to the retail store, which would ultimately lead to increased sales.

She added: We hired Danconia Media for our redesign because we felt they had a proven track record of success at good Web site design and a special strength in search engine optimization that was critical to this project.

As part of the package, Saloom also received a redesigned logo and high-end business cards to match its new branding. During the design process, Danconia made sure to produce collateral that would appeal to Saloom's varying target consumers, whose tastes range from rustic to modern to anywhere in between.

We enjoyed the challenge of bringing together Saloom's varied style offerings into one branding package, William Sweeney, Danconia's vice president, said. We're confident that our solution will ultimately lead to increased revenues for Saloom.

Saloom, based in Winchendon, was founded in 1982 by Peter and Linda Saloom. Originally run out of a basement, the company now has two factories with 100,000 square feet of manufacturing space and products distributed throughout the United States and Canada. The company has four main product lines: Saloom New England, New Castle, City Scapes and Gardner Contemporary.

Danconia Media Receives Community Service Award from Salem Animal Rescue League

Thursday, 17 December 2009 by admin
SALEM, N.H., Nov. 19, 2009 Danconia Media has received this year's Salem Animal Rescue League Community Service Award for donating a new Web site that the nonprofit uses to reach out to its supporters and to find homes for abandoned dogs and cats in southern New Hampshire and northern Massachusetts.

SARL presented Danconia the award during its annual Kimball Family Farm Autumn Brunch event held Sunday. In its recognition, SARL praised Danconia for developing an online tool that has made it easier for the animal rescue league to communicate with volunteers and supporters, raise money for its planned relocation and building project, and find homes for abandoned pets.

About 60 guests attended the event, which was held at the home of Tim and Valorie Hayes, a SARL board member, in North Andover, Mass. Before SARL's awards were handed out, attendees watched an hour-long presentation by Vickie Constantine Croke, an author, journalist and host of The Secret Life of Animals on NECN. Guests were also updated on SARL's Capital Giving Campaign and building project.

The most outstanding feature of the day was our fundraising effort that resulted in $87,000 in proceeds for our Capital Giving Campaign and general fund, said Ray Denis, SARL's director of development.

SARL launched its new site located at www.sarl-nh.org in October. The site features a highly user-friendly content management system that allows SARL members to add and modify content within moments, a pet management system that makes adding new animals available for adoption to its database simple, and a robust CRM application that allows the organization manage donations, volunteers and events from a single interface.

They captured exactly what we were looking for in a very user-friendly Web site, SARL President Lori Bertrand said shortly after the site's launching. I am delighted with the outcome of this project, as it will be used by our volunteers, staff, donors and adopters to advance our shelter's operations and save many more lives of companion animals.st

The site was donated as part of Danconia's Web design grant program specifically for New Hampshire nonprofits and charities. The program is intended for in-state organizations, but out-of-state applicants will be considered if they provide significant services for Granite State residents. For more information or to fill out an online application form, visit the program's Web site at www.nhwebdesign.org.

Salem Animal Rescue League Receives Donated Web Site from Danconia Media

Thursday, 17 December 2009 by admin
SALEM, N.H., Sept. 30, 2009 The Salem Animal Rescue League today launched a completely redesigned Web site that was donated by New Hampshire-based marketing and design firm Danconia Media.

Salem Animal Rescue League Web SiteThe site located at www.sarl-nh.org was donated as part of Danconia's Web design grant program for Granite State nonprofits and charities. It was built with a highly user-friendly content management system that will allow SARL members to add and modify content within moments. Danconia is also providing hosting services for SARL free of charge.

They captured exactly what we were looking for in a very user-friendly Web site, SARL President Lori Bertrand said. I am delighted with the outcome of this project, as it will be used by our volunteers, staff, donors and adopters to advance our shelter's operations and save many more lives of companion animals.

On the site, visitors can see pictures and videos featuring dogs and cats that are currently available for adoption, donate money to the organization by check or credit card, see upcoming events, sign up to be a volunteer, apply to be a cat or dog foster parent and get pet care information, among many other things. The site also integrates SARL's Twitter and Facebook pages, which the nonprofit uses to communicate with its supporters.

As part of the donation, Danconia Web developers installed CiviCRM, a robust open-source program that allows SARL to easily manage donations, volunteers and events from a single interface. They also integrated the PetPoint Animal Management System, which automates the process of adding animals ready for adoption to the Web site's database.

Danconia picked the rescue league as a Web design grant recipient after being contacted by SARL member Lorrie Perron. They requested an easy-to-use site that would be useful to volunteers, donors and potential pet adopters alike.

Our new Web site will give us the ability to reach out to so many people in many ways, including enhancement of our surrender and adoption programs, education, fundraising and our Capital Giving Campaign, said Ray Denis, SARL's director of development. Overall, we will have the ability to promote SARL in ways that we have never been able to before without this important contemporary tool.

SARL is the second organization to receive a Web site from the grant program. This summer, Danconia launched a site for Pembroke-based Community Services Council of New Hampshire. That site features about 15 pages of content highlighting CSCNH's many services that assist homeless, elderly and developmentally disabled residents throughout the state.

There are a lot of great nonprofits in New Hampshire, but most of them lack the funding and the resources to effectively market themselves online, Danconia Vice President William Sweeney said. We started the Web design grant program so they can use their Web presences to solicit donations, gain volunteers and communicate with the public more effectively.

Danconia is now accepting applications from other New Hampshire nonprofits and charities; the deadline is revolving. The program is intended for in-state organizations, but out-of-state applicants will be considered if they provide significant services to New Hampshire residents. For more information or to fill out an application form, visit the program's Web site at www.nhwebdesign.org.

WoodNet Market Council Launches New Site Donated by Danconia Media

Tuesday, 27 October 2009 by admin

BARNSTEAD, N.H., Oct. 27, 2009 WoodNet Market Council, an organization dedicated to responsible forestry and green building, today launched a new Web site donated by New Hampshire design and marketing firm Danconia Media.

WoodNet Market CouncilThe site located at www.woodnetusa.org was built using open-source technology and a highly user-friendly content management system that allows WoodNet's members to easily add and modify content within minutes. It features a clean, minimal design and seven pages of content highlighting WoodNet's programs. The site also has a member directory, which currently lists nearly 100 organizations.

WoodNet works to unite manufacturers, builders, buyers and sellers to promote sustainable building and forestry practices. Its members work to get companies certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC). WoodNet offers reduced rates for small businesses seeking FSC Chain of Custody certification and assistance in preparing for annual FSC audits and developing required controls.

Danconia Vice President William Sweeney said his company donated the site because green building and responsible forestry are important to bettering the environment. Having a quality Web presence, he said, will help WoodNet in its mission of promoting good stewardship.

It's important to be environmentally responsible, and having good online resources is essential for any organization trying to make a difference today, Sweeney said. We look forward to doing more projects in the future that promote green initiatives.

The WoodNet site is the latest in several Danconia projects involving green-building companies. Late last year, Danconia launched a completely redesigned site for Young Furniture Mfg., a Bow, N.H.-based manufacturer of FSC-certified cabinets. And earlier this year, the firm designed a site for J.S. Benson Woodworking & Design, which produces FSC windows and doors from its Brattleboro, Vt., factory.

Web Design

It’s all about conversion to the bottom line, make sure the traffic you bring to your site, turns into gold. This is designs moment to shine.

With only seconds to create rapport with a website visitor and have the opportunity to earn their trust and their business, your design and messaging must to be spot on. Put the odds in your favor, design like mad and say what you mean to say.  Put the experience of a true marketing partner to work for you. Don’t settle for web design firms, or digital marketing shops, you deserve a full service experience enabling your business to thrive, not just tick off a few boxes on the todo list. From CMS platforms like Wordpress, Joomla!, Drupal, Concrete5, CMS Made Simple and dozens of others, we can create and deliver exactly what you need to make your business grow.

Web Development

When it comes to your website sometimes all you need is a lead generation tool, but in some cases you need a whole lot more.

From custom job boards, to complex web applications such as booking and ticketing systems, interactive web features, social software and data distribution systems, you need experienced developers that are constantly refining their trade. At Danconia we develop on a myriad of languages from PHP, Python, .Net, C, C++, Java, Ruby, and .node to name just a few. Every challenge has a solution, and once again, being solution driven as opposed to talent driven, you are assured the right recommendation for the task at hand.

Search Engine Optimization (SEO)

The Internet is the world’s largest marketplace, teeming with customers ready to buy, sell them something for goodness sake.

SEO is dead, at least as everyone knew it. Now it’s all about the conversation, the one you need to have with your customers, only now it gets translated through Google. Rank high and dominate the conversation. Today’s SEO has evolved a great deal because it had to in order to keep pace with Google’s algorithm, call Danconia today and educate yourself on the nuances of success. Knowledge is power, crush the competition!

CMS Platforms (Content Management System)

Don’t be shackled to biased vendors that sell you their bill of goods. Expect and demand more. With Danconia, rest assured we have your best interest in mind.

We’re so tired of hearing about, and seeing clients coming through the door with the wrong platforms for their needs. Over and over, and over again. The rebuilding process is costly and stressful. At Danconia your needs are front and center, we look at your challenges and pick the right platform for the job. Having core competencies in dozens of website platforms allows us an unbiased view of what’s best, not what we are competent in. Being platform agnostic means it’s all about you. We can help you with a solution based on the following platforms and more

Wordpress / Joomla! / Drupal / Concrete5 / CMS Made Simple

E-commerce

We can’t tell you how many e-commerce sites we’ve rebuilt for clients over the years, but it’s a ton. Don’t fall prey to unqualified, biased developers.

The most challenging of sites to build are the e-commerce ones. Sure if you have a simple product line with no bundling, special shipping challenges, or interfacing into accounting systems or CRM’s, it can be a smooth process. Just a single need outside of “standard” and you might be looking at custom work. Knowing that upfront is key to saving lots of trouble, aggravation, money and time. But how do you know? Call us. We will help you understand the ins and outs of each platform as it pertains to your situation. Due diligence will go a long way to having a great finished product. The magic words are “platform agnostic”. We estimate over 90% of the projects we get handed have been improperly specified to the wrong platform from the outset, and that’s because companies push what they know best. Deficient skillsets become especially visible in the solution recommendations, and final working product. Having a platform agnostic developer is key to your success.

Magento / Magento 2 / WooCommerce / Drupal Commerce / Virtuemart / Big Commerce / Shopify / Zencart / Others

Digital Marketing

Spend wisely, get an unbiased view of your options and see how they can help solve your challenges and reach your organizational goals.

It’s just too complex these days, from Google Adwords, to Facebook Marketing, LinkedIn, Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram and a whole bunch of retargeting options and account based marketing solutions (ABM), you need help just to understand the options let alone managing any of the programs. Exactly what is it you need? With budgets in hand, you need an unbiased view of what each option will return on your investment, is it revenue, is it brand awareness, is it building a long term pipeline, is it helping you become a thought leader in your industry, or is it acting as an SEO boost to help you rank higher in the SERPS. No matter the need, there is definitely a method to the madness and each of the above mentioned companies and providers would tell you their option has a specific need it fills. Let us help you decide on the best path for your investment. Spend wisely.

Branding

Your brand is critical to the success of your organization. Boil it down to the emotion behind the transaction, and winning will become a habit. Win Big!

Increased revenue can come from greater exposure, but that, in and of itself, won’t drive sales to great heights. What you need to really succeed on a grand scale is a message. Stories move clients, and all businesses need one. I can’t tell you how many times we start working for a client, and the employees can’t even boil down what they do into a cohesive short thought. This is critical in driving revenues forward. People typically will respond to the “Who are you and what is your identity” question with, “We provide or do X.” That’s what you provide, not who you are. If you can relay in a short, concise way who you are and how you can help your client, you will build instant rapport and put the odds in your favor of them becoming a client or supporter. This message along with your visual brand identity becomes the foundation from which your business grows. Now go have a coke and a smile....

Print Collateral

The New England Patriots Way. When they zig, you zag, when everyone else has stopped with print collateral, you double down and win. Like a fine tattoo, make it beautiful and mean something.

Like it or not, the New England Patriots are perennial winners? Just how do they do it? They always find a way to do what everyone else isn’t, what nobody else expects, it’s the ripple.

Sure everyone has stopped printing materials to leave with clients in favor of digital counterparts. But what’s really happening? Digital materials are getting buried down in mail folders and lost on cluttered desktops. One thing is clear though, those clients desks are cleaner than they used to be (no more brochures). When they zig, you zag. Now is the perfect time to leave behind a strategically planned, well designed, printed piece with the proper messaging. If it’s beautiful, on quality materials, you will make a great impression and stay top of mind for when the day comes. We have received calls up to two years post drop off from clients who kept our brochure on their desk. Be unique, differentiate yourself, print, shake hands, and answer the phone when it rings.

Marketing Strategy and Planning

You don’t go on vacation without planning where you are headed, and how you are going to get there. Otherwise you just drive around aimlessly. No fun, especially with kids. The same goes for your strategic marketing plan.

Whether there is an official, or unofficial plan, one thing is for sure, you need one. From branding and messaging to targeted inbound marketing and outbound organic sales calling, to community participation, and customer service, all actions taken need to be deliberate, coordinated, and supportive of the main goals set forth in the strategic plan. Far too many organizations, and sadly professional marketing companies as well, focus on tasks in silos. They look at building a website, or creating a brochure, etc as if it were on an island on it’s own. You must integrate the strategy, messaging, and other parts of your business and their initiatives into the fabric of each and every product and service delivery that carries the company’s torch. That includes the people as well. The right hand needs to know about, and support, what the left hand is doing at all times. Bring the team, and the tools together under one unified mission. Create and execute the plan!

We are truly grateful to be working with Danconia Media and consider them a highly valued, long-term marketing partner.

Their creative work captures perfectly through pictures, prose and design the residence of New Hampshire’s Governor as a place where Granite Staters can relive the past, discover history and experience New Hampshire’s rich cultural heritage.

Should this company take you on as a client, you are not only getting a media company, you are getting a partner. And that’s what it is all about. These guys genuinely want to see you succeed. This is what they live for.

Their troubleshooting skills are unparalleled, their work ethic is to be admired and their skillset is rock solid. And as for their graphic artist, well he just so happens to be the King of Cool.

“Danconia was a wonderful partner to work with. Initially we met to describe what we liked about our old site and what we wanted to improve upon. 6 weeks later, Danconia invited our team to its office to view a rough draft of our new site. It blew our socks off!

The launch of the new site was smooth and seamless. The Danconia Team are true professionals and experts within their respective field. We highly recommend working with Danconia on your next project. We will be customers for life.”
