Salem Animal Rescue League, a nonprofit that shelters and finds homes for abandoned dogs and cats in southern New Hampshire and northern Massachusetts, received a donated website from Danconia Media as part of our web design grant program for Granite State nonprofits and charities. We designed the site using open-source technology and a highly user-friendly content manage system (CMS) that SARL’s members frequently use to add and update content. Using the site, visitors can find pictures, videos and information about pets in need of good homes, donate money to the nonprofit and sign up to volunteer.

The site allows visitors to rearrange content sections as they sit fit and incorporates SARL’s Twitter, Facebook and YouTube accounts, which its members use to communicate with members, volunteers and supporters throughout the region and beyond. We also equipped the site with CiviCRM, a robust open-source application that allows for the simple management of donations, volunteers and events from a single interface. The site’s backend also features the PetPoint Animal Management System, which automates the process of adding animals ready for adoption to its database.
